Staten Island was one of the hardest hit communities on 9/11, losing more than 270 loved
ones in the terrorist attacks on New York City that day. As a result, Staten Island needed
its own memorial, a place for the loved ones of the victims to mourn and reflect, and a place for all visitors to remember those who lost their lives on that tragic day.
The Staten Island 9/11 Memorial is located along the North Shore Waterfront Esplanade adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal and the Richmond County Ballpark at St. George.
A day to honor and remember
We shall never forget those who perished on 9/11. The men, women, and children in the two towers;, in the Pentagon, passengers in the four planes; all the brave individuals who rushed in to help others and made the ultimate sacrifice. we will never forget
I would like to share a few of the photos I took while spending my morning with family at the 9/11 memorial, hopefully you can come here too.
